I hope you are able to support my
Richard Brodeur Charity Golf Classic
As you may know, playing for the Vancouver Canucks was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The community was very supportive of me, and I am thankful to be able to give back in any way that I can.
It has been over 10 years since we created this golf event to support a very dear friend, Roger Neilson during his difficult time battling cancer. The tournament continues to grow and over the years we have given back hundreds of thousands of dollars to a variety of charities. We have been able to help sick children, giving them an opportunity for some fun in their lives; we’ve given a chance to underprivileged kids to go to summer camp; and we have helped fund medical research for a variety of organizations.
Over the years we have helped some of the following charities:
Leukemia Research Fund of Canada
The Vancouver Centre for Integrated Healing
Canuck Place Children's Hospice
Burnaby Family Life Institute
Camp Goodtimes (BC Hockey Benevolent Association)
BC Children's Hospital
BC Family Hearing Resource Centre
The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation
Vancouver International Film Festival
The Canadian Diabetes Association
Tuberous Sclerosis Society of Canada
ACT – Autism Community Training Society
People ask me why I do this? The answer is very easy. Why not? If you are in a position to help others in any way that you can, why not? The world around us would be a lot better, this is no mystery. I appreciate all of you who have supported this tournament over the years, and I am once again asking you to help make this small piece of humanity better.
This year, the proceeds from the tournament will benefit these very worthy local charities:
